Subscription Sample Preschool Day

Here's one way you can incorporate your Fun-In-A-Box Canada Subscription activities into your day. Everyone’s family or childcare situation is unique and our activities are designed to be flexible, allowing children to receive the full benefits of exploring each theme without having to fit into a rigid structure.

9:00am

As you and the children are planning your day, include some or all of the Daily Calendar and Weather activities. These activities could be part of a Circle Time or part of your routine as you decide what clothes to wear when you go out.

If you have a more formal Circle Time, introduce the new theme-related songs, poems or finger plays as part of your circle. Continue to review the songs throughout the weeks you are exploring a particular theme. Theme-related books are also a great Circle Time activity, especially if you have lots of extra time for discussion. (See Recommended Reading included with your Subscription Kit)

10:00        

If you are having an inside day, the morning is a great time for more elaborate arts and crafts activities. Most children can focus well in the morning and will be excited about working on their projects if you have just been singing or talking about something they will be making.

Each Monthly Subscription Kit includes a few easy, theme-related snack or meal ideas. Although they are suggested on specific days, you will be best able to predict when it will be easiest to fit a special meal into your week.

A quick song or story makes a nice transition from lunch to a nap or quiet time. If you have some children who nap and others who don’t you can plan some books for “quiet time.”

Any time is a great time to go outside! If the children have energy to burn, your kit includes lots of outdoor activities. The best thing about the great outdoors is that it changes everyday. You can check out what’s happening with the weather, or repeat an activity you’ve tried before. You might learn something new just by trying it again on a different day.

If the weather is not co-operating you will also find plenty of active indoor activities in your Kit that are safe, fun and easy to plan.

If you have any time or energy left after your fun-filled day, create a cozy, relaxed atmosphere before the dinnertime rush and talk about everything you’ve discovered today.
